What Is Laser Stone Surgery?
A thin scope is passed through the natural urinary passage to the stone. A high energy laser fibre then fragments it into fine dust that passes naturally no cuts, no scars.
Unlike older shock wave treatments (ESWL), laser lithotripsy provides direct visual contact and works on all stone types including hard stones that resist other therapies.

How the Procedure Works

Pre-Op Assessment
CT scan, blood tests, and urine culture. Active infections treated first.
Scope Insertion
Thin ureteroscope passed through the natural urinary passage no incisions.
Laser Fragmentation
Laser fibre placed on the stone, dusting it into sub millimetre particles.
Fragment Retrieval
Remaining pieces extracted with a basket. DJ stent placed if needed.
Recovery
2–4 hours observation, then same-day discharge. Back to desk work in 2–3 days.
Follow-Up
Imaging at 1–2 weeks confirms clearance. Stent removed. Prevention plan started.
